Lázaro Cárdenas implements new public transport tariffs

In Lázaro Cárdenas, Mexico, transport leaders have announced that new authorized public and suburban transport tariffs will be displayed within vehicles starting this Thursday. The price adjustments, officially published in the State Official Gazette on August 7, include a one-peso increase for the minimum fare and a 10% increase for other routes.

Transport officials stated the adjustment is necessary to cover rising costs for fuel, spare parts, and general maintenance. While rates are increasing, the minimum fare in the region remains at 12.50 pesos, which leaders noted is competitive compared to neighboring Guerrero, where the minimum fare reaches 14 pesos.

Special provisions remain in place: senior citizens with INAPAM credentials will maintain their previous rates, and cancer patients traveling with an escort will ride for free, as stipulated by official regulations.
