Lázaro Ramos wins best actor award for ‘Madame Satã’
Actor Lázaro Ramos has received the special award for best performer at the 26th Mostra BR de Cinema in São Paulo. The recognition follows his debut film performance in ‘Madame Satã’, directed by Karim Ainouz.
The film, which has received positive critical reception at international festivals such as Cannes, Biarritz, and San Francisco, is set in 1930s Rio de Janeiro. It follows the story of João Francisco dos Santos in the Lapa district. Following its festival run, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in Brazilian cities including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte.
