Lázár János records highest absenteeism among active Hungarian MPs

According to the Hungarian Parliament’s website, Fidesz MP Lázár János has missed 178 out of 219 recorded votes, giving him a participation rate of just 18.72 %. This places him at the top of the absentee list, with the five most absent members all belonging to the governing Fidesz‑KDNP alliance.

Earlier data from early July showed Lázár had missed 122 of 166 votes (73 % absenteeism). He was elected from the 20th spot on the Fidesz‑KDNP list. Under parliamentary rules, a member who skips at least a quarter of votes without justification may face removal of his honorarium by the house speaker.
