M. Dharmanagoud Honored in Karnataka Book of Records for Public Health Service

Social worker M. Dharmanagoud of Karnataka has been entered into the Karnataka Book of Records for his long‑term public‑health contributions. Over two decades he has served in the state health department, focusing on leprosy eradication and helping patients become self‑sufficient through agricultural initiatives.

He currently works in the Vijayanagara district health and family‑welfare office. Dharmanagoud has received several honors, including the Rangabhoomi Yodha award, the Karnataka Rajyotsava award, the Vaidyasheva Ratna award and an honorary doctorate, recognizing his impact on community health.

His work during the COVID‑19 pandemic, including house‑to‑house screening and distribution of food and essentials, was also highlighted as part of the record‑keeping entry.
