M. K. Stalin criticizes TVK government over inflation and electricity
DMK leader M. K. Stalin has issued a sharp critique of the TVK government, alleging that Tamil Nadu has seen a surge in inflation and price hikes within just four months of the administration taking office.
Stalin accused the government of mismanagement regarding the electricity crisis, claiming that previous low-cost contracts were canceled in favor of purchasing power from the open market at a high rate of 35 rupees per unit. He further alleged that the government's failure to address power shortages and its handling of water resources—specifically the timing of opening the Mettur Dam—has negatively impacted farmers in the Delta region.
Additionally, the DMK leader raised questions regarding political corruption and the alleged 'purchase' of political opponents, suggesting that the high costs of electricity procurement might be linked to a lack of funds for such activities.
