Mỹ Linh: Three decades of influence in Vietnamese music

Diva Mỹ Linh has maintained a prominent position in the Vietnamese music industry for over three decades. After graduating as the top student from the Vocal Music Department of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music), she became a pioneer in modernizing the country's music scene.

A major milestone in her career occurred in 1998 with the release of the album ‘Tóc Ngắn’. Collaborating with the Anh Em team, including musicians Anh Quân and Huy Tuấn, the album is credited with introducing modern Pop and R&B genres to the Vietnamese public. The album achieved significant commercial success, selling over 200,000 physical copies during an era dominated by cassette tapes and CDs.
