M-Sport unveils Ford Fiesta Rally2 evolution kit for 2027 WRC

M-Sport has unveiled a preview of its Ford Fiesta Rally2 equipped with an evolution kit designed to compete in the top tier of the World Rally Championship (WRC) starting in 2027. This development follows a FIA initiative allowing Rally2 manufacturers to implement a €7,500 upgrade kit to ensure greater aerodynamic parity between Rally2 cars and the new WRC27 category vehicles.

The upgrade includes new homologated front fenders, a revised front bumper, and a rear aerodynamic device. Additionally, the car will see a 10 kg reduction in minimum weight and will utilize a 33 mm turbo restrictor. M-Sport is the first team to commit to developing this kit for its Ford Fiesta.

Testing is currently underway on asphalt in Spain, with former WRC driver Matthew Wilson participating in recent sessions. M-Sport plans to enter three Rally2 cars equipped with this kit into next season's 15-round championship. While a new official factory partnership with Ford is set to begin in 2028, the manufacturer will increase its support for M-Sport starting next season.
