Mỹ Tâm reflects on her early music career and youth

Vietnamese singer Mỹ Tâm recently shared nostalgic reflections on her early career, specifically revisiting photos from when she was 17 years old. The images, originally published in Mực Tím magazine in 1998, show the singer as a student at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.

At that time, the Da Nang native had recently won first prize in the Mực Tím Golden Voice competition. Her early aspirations included becoming a well-known singer and a music instructor. Her journey to professional music involved participating in various school and city-level singing competitions, though she was unable to attend the Military Institute of Arts in Hanoi due to family circumstances.
