M. Zubair wins Tekken 8 championship at Esports World Cup

Khawaja Muhammad Zubair, competing under the name M. Zubair, won the Tekken 8 championship at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris. After entering the tournament through the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), Zubair secured a massive prize pool totaling approximately $300,000, including the $250,000 winner's prize and the $50,000 Jafonso Award for his performance in both the LCQ and the main event.

Zubair's path to the title included a significant semifinal victory where he defeated eight-time EVO champion Arslan Ash in a 5-4 series. In the grand final, Zubair achieved a dominant 5-0 sweep against the South Korean player LowHigh, using the character Dragunov to secure the championship.
