M2Cloud expands digital vaccine management to hospital storage

M2Cloud, a pharmaceutical supply chain management specialist, is expanding its ‘digital biological product shipment certificate’ system to include the vaccine storage phase within medical institutions. This initiative aims to create a seamless digital record from distribution through to hospital storage, preventing management gaps.

The move aligns with recent guidelines from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to transition vaccine safety management toward a full-lifecycle approach. This includes verifying national shipment approvals and utilizing automated temperature recording devices to prevent management lapses during night or weekend hours.

Under the digital certificate system, medical staff can replace paper documentation with digital certificates to verify national shipment approval and temperature history during transit. M2Cloud also utilizes its ‘mChain’ IoT service, currently used by approximately 1,000 medical institutions, to monitor storage conditions in real-time and provide automated alerts if temperature thresholds are breached.

Additionally, M2Cloud is set to launch the ‘ColdCare’ vaccine management service in collaboration with Moderna later this month, focusing on real-time monitoring of thawing processes, storage temperatures, and expiration dates.
