M4 motorway closed between Reading and Maidenhead following collision

The M4 motorway has been closed in both directions between Junction 8/9 at Maidenhead and Junction 10 at Reading following a collision. A police-led investigation is currently underway.

National Highways expects the motorway to remain shut through the morning rush hour, which is anticipated to cause significant delays on surrounding routes. Motorists traveling through Berkshire are advised to use official diversion routes and allow extra travel time.

Westbound drivers are directed to exit at Junction 8/9 and follow the A404(M), A4, A3290, and A329(M) to rejoin the M4 at Junction 10. Eastbound drivers should exit at Junction 10, using the A329(M), A4, and A404(M) to rejoin at Junction 8/9. Increased traffic is expected on the A4, A404(M), and A329(M).
