M6-ISRSS graduates first class of robotic surgery professionals in Casablanca

The Mohammed VI Interventional Simulation and Robotic Surgery School (M6-ISRSS) in Casablanca has graduated its inaugural class of medical professionals. A total of 76 participants, including 58 surgeons and 18 operating room nurses specializing in urology and general surgery, completed the program.

Launched in January 2026 at the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences, the curriculum integrates theoretical instruction with simulation and hands-on training using surgical robots, augmented reality, and synthetic models. Developed in partnership with the University of Lorraine’s School of Surgery, the program attracted international participants from Tunisia, Djibouti, and Cameroon.

In a unique approach to training, the school incorporated instruction from Royal Moroccan Air Force fighter pilots to help trainees improve spatial awareness, communication, coordination, and emergency response skills. The initiative aims to advance robotic surgery capabilities and patient safety across Morocco and the broader African region.
