M6 to relaunch cult reality series Le Pensionnat de Chavagnes

The French television channel M6 is reportedly preparing to relaunch its cult early-2000s reality program, ‘Le Pensionnat de Chavagnes’. The reboot is expected to feature a new location while maintaining the concept of adolescents experiencing the strict discipline and educational style of the 1950s.

The original series, which aired in 2004, followed 24 teenagers attempting to earn a primary school certificate under rigorous conditions. The show became a major success, drawing millions of viewers and leading to several spin-offs over the following decade.

As news of the revival circulates, interest has resurfaced regarding Bernard Navaron, the show’s former strict supervisor. Navaron, known for his authoritative presence on screen, currently works as a documentarian and boarding school master. He has recently been vocal on social media regarding his health, noting that he lives with an orphan genetic disease, and has alleged discrimination related to his disability.
