M.A. Krishnan, senior RSS pracharak and Kesari editor, dies at 97

M.A. Krishnan, a senior pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and former editor of the Malayalam weekly Kesari, has passed away at the age of 97. He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi.

Krishnan was a prominent figure in Kerala's socio-cultural landscape. He joined the RSS as a pracharak in 1954 and later held significant organizational roles, including provincial intellectual head and publicity head. In 1964, he transitioned into media as the editor of Kesari.

He was a key figure in establishing and expanding several cultural organizations, most notably Balgokulam, which focuses on connecting children and youth with Indian culture, literature, and traditions. He was also instrumental in the development of Tapasya Kala Sahitya Vedi and other initiatives such as Amritabharati and the International Sri Krishna Centre.

BJP state president Rajiv Chandrasekhar expressed condolences, describing Krishnan's passing as an irreparable loss to national movements and the cultural and social life of Kerala.
