Ma Thị Trúc An, 16, tops vocal program at Vietnam's National Academy of Music

Sixteen‑year‑old Ma Thị Trúc An, a native of Cao Bằng province, was named the top student of the intermediate vocal (Trung cấp Thanh nhạc) program at the Vietnam National Academy of Music during the 2026 admission round. Her achievement follows years of intensive training under TS‑NSƯT Phương Nga, the deputy head of the vocal department, and accompaniment by TS‑NSƯT Minh Trang. Trúc An also took part in the 13th Asia Arts Festival in Singapore, where she earned a silver cup for her performance.

She credits her family, especially her mother, for steadfast support and plans to pursue a career as a vocal instructor and concert performer. The academy highlighted her progress from a shy beginner to a confident stage artist, noting her potential to contribute to Vietnamese music in the future.
