Maa Baglamukhi Temple bans late-night rituals after fatal flood accident

Authorities have imposed a ban on performing hawan (religious rituals) after 8:00 PM at the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Agar Malwa district. This decision follows a fatal accident where eight people lost their lives.

During heavy rainfall on Friday night, a sudden surge in a seasonal drain near the temple swept away a car carrying devotees. The victims included seven residents of Odisha and a driver from the local Barod area. Among the deceased were three children. The car was reportedly swept approximately 100 meters away from a culvert.

Local authorities and the SDRF recovered the bodies from the drain on Saturday morning. Following the incident, which occurred after approximately 3.7 inches of rain was recorded in the area over 24 hours, officials issued orders to restrict religious ceremonies to before 8:00 PM to ensure pilgrim safety.
