Maa Ichhaddevi Temple thieves steal crown and canopy in Burhanpur

Thieves targeted the Maa Ichhaddevi Temple in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, stealing a crown and a canopy from the deity's idol. The incident, which occurred around 1:30 AM, was captured on CCTV footage.

According to reports, three individuals dressed in black, wearing masks and gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints, carried out the theft. The footage shows one intruder approaching the idol to touch its feet before removing the crown and canopy. While the suspects attempted to break into the donation box using rods and knives, they were unable to access the funds, as temple management had secured the cash the previous day.

Other valuables, including gold ornaments on the idol, remained untouched. Local police, led by Shahpur Station In-charge Akhilesh Mishra, are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the temple and surrounding areas to identify the suspects and determine their escape route.
