Maaelu Teadmuskeskus launches new soil and fertilization portal

The Estonian Agricultural Research Centre (METK) has launched a new soil portal designed to centralize soil and fertilization data for farmers. The platform allows users to view laboratory analysis results through a map application, create fertilization and liming requirement maps, and receive NPK fertilization recommendations.

Through the portal, producers can generate data summaries for individual fields or entire enterprises, providing a comprehensive overview of soil properties and tracking changes over time. The system supports decision-making by helping farmers identify when new soil samples are needed and which fields require specific fertilization.

Data can be downloaded in various formats for use in agricultural machinery software. Users can access the portal via the Regional and Agricultural Ministry’s client portal, provided they have up-to-date soil sample data.
