Maassluis and Sliedrecht councils demand financial detail and adjust executive portfolios
In Maassluis, opposition parties (Pro, VSP, D66 and CDA) submitted a motion requesting that the municipal executive provide a transparent and testable financial underpinning for the coalition agreement and spatial‑plan framework. The council set a deadline of 1 October 2026 for the information, ahead of the 2027 program budget, and debated the motion at the meeting on 14 July 2026 before the summer recess.
In Sliedrecht, the final allocation of aldermanic portfolios differs from the earlier coalition agreement. The mayor retains public order, safety and legal affairs, while aldermen Boudewijn Brandwijk, Hanny Visser‑Schlieker and Anja Dubbeldam‑van Beest have been assigned new responsibilities covering finance, asylum‑seeker reception, labour migrants, mobility, economy, social domain, culture, sport, spatial planning and related projects.
