Seventeen-year-old Indian tennis player Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi achieved a double-title victory at the W35 Lagos tournament in Nigeria. Revathi secured the singles title by defeating Spain’s Celia Cervino Ruiz 6-4, 6-2, making her the youngest Indian woman to win a W35 singles title and breaking a 22-year record previously held by Sania Mirza.
In addition to her singles success, Revathi won the doubles title alongside Ukraine’s Yelyzaveta Kotliar. Her professional rise includes a previous victory at the ITF J300 tournament in Bamberg and a training stint at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain.
