Mabel Garza appointed director of Saltillo's Municipal Institute of Culture

Mabel Garza Blackaller has been appointed as the new director of the Municipal Institute of Culture in Saltillo, Coahuila. Her appointment was unanimously approved by the Institute's Governing Board and formalized by Mayor Javier Díaz González.

Garza Blackaller, a playwright, stage director, and cultural manager, holds a degree in Letters and a master's in Literature. Her previous experience includes serving as a founding member of the Coahuila State Theater Company and as a founding professor for the Spanish Letters program at the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila.

The Mayor emphasized the importance of her role in expanding cultural activities to neighborhoods and rural areas (ejidos) as the city prepares for its 450th anniversary. Garza Blackaller noted that her diverse background in both cultural production and administration provides her with a comprehensive perspective for the position.
