mAbxience and Sandoz partner on emicizumab biosimilar

mAbxience and Sandoz have entered into a collaboration agreement for the licensing, development, production, and commercialization of an emicizumab biosimilar candidate. The drug is intended for the treatment of hemophilia A, a rare genetic disorder.

Under the terms of the agreement, mAbxience will manage the development and production of the biosimilar at its facilities in Spain and Argentina. Sandoz will hold exclusive global marketing rights, with the exception of Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

The emicizumab reference product, Hemlibra, operates in a global market estimated at approximately $5.7 billion. This partnership leverages mAbxience’s manufacturing capabilities and Sandoz’s global commercial presence.
