Various law enforcement and animal welfare operations have been reported across Brazil, Bolivia, and Portugal.

In Brazil, police in Parnaíba conducted an anti-trafficking operation where a K9 unit discovered drugs hidden inside a running washing machine. In Volta Redonda, a joint operation rescued a vulnerable elderly woman and a dog suffering from neglect; the investigation led to the arrest of a young man for drug trafficking and animal cruelty. Other Brazilian incidents include the rescue of 14 dogs from abuse in Macaé, a municipal security operation in the Feira do Rato region, and the arrest of a man in Goiânia for throwing a dog into a storm drain.

In Bolivia, authorities in Oruro rescued 19 dogs from the Kantuta market to halt the illegal sale of pets and address canine overpopulation.

In the Azores, Portugal, the PAN party has called for better coordination between municipalities and animal protection associations to implement the Capture, Sterilize, and Return (CED) program and ensure the welfare of equines used in local festivities.
