Macau hosts WHO workshop to train youth in global health governance
The Health Bureau and the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macau recently co-hosted the ‘GO WHO’ workshop, a global health talent training program organized by the World Health Organization (WHO). The event targeted university students, overseas Macau students, and healthcare professionals to enhance their international competitiveness and understanding of global health governance.
During the workshop, WHO officials provided practical guidance on organizational operations and diverse career paths within international health sectors. Macau's Health Bureau Director, Lo Ick Lung, emphasized that the program serves as a bridge for local youth to enter the international health arena, noting that Macau's recognition as a WHO Healthy City provides a platform for local talent to contribute to global health initiatives.
