MACC files police report against lawyer over alleged document disclosure

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has lodged a police report against Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad, a lawyer representing former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. The report concerns the alleged disclosure of a classified document during proceedings at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

The document in question is reportedly a recording of a conversation involving Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, a former Segambut Bersatu deputy division chief. Adam has been mentioned in the ongoing corruption trial involving the Jana Wibawa programme, where he is expected to be offered to the defense as a witness.

MACC officials stated that the recording was classified as a secret and restricted document under an MACC directive issued in May 2023. The police report seeks an investigation into the unauthorized disclosure of the material to the public.
