Maccabi Haifa proposes loan for Loizos Loizou from Red Star Belgrade

Maccabi Haifa has submitted an official proposal to Red Star Belgrade to sign Cypriot international Loizos Loizou on loan until the end of the season. The Israeli club is seeking to bolster its squad following a severe injury to midfielder Manuel Benson.

Loizou, who joined Red Star Belgrade from Hapoel Tel Aviv for €3.5 million, has struggled to secure a starting role under Dejan Stankovic. His playing time has been limited recently, including a brief 17-minute appearance against Hapoel Beer Sheva and no involvement in the return match.

While sources suggest the chances of Red Star Belgrade agreeing to the loan are slim, the final decision rests with the club's new coach, Albert Riera. If Riera determines that Loizou does not fit his tactical plans, a return to the Israeli league is likely for the winger, who recorded nine goals and seven assists in 40 matches last season.
