Maccabi Haifa targets Lecce midfielder Omri Gandelman

Maccabi Haifa has expressed strong interest in signing Israeli attacking midfielder Omri Gandelman from the Italian club Lecce. The Israeli club is looking to bring the player back to his home country, but negotiations face a tight deadline as the Israeli transfer window is set to close on Wednesday, September 16.

Gandelman joined Lecce in January from the Belgian club Gent for approximately 3 million euros. He is currently under contract with the Salento-based club until June 2029, with an option for an additional year. During his time in Italy, he has made 20 appearances, recording two goals and one assist.

The 24-year-old is a regular for the Israeli national team, having earned nine caps and scored three goals. Before his move to Europe, he played in the Israeli top flight for Maccabi Netanya.
