Macedonia 2025 launches fourth ‘Science and Me’ teacher training program

Macedonia 2025, in partnership with Johnson Matthey, has launched the fourth edition of the ‘Science and Me’ community impact program. The initiative aims to enhance natural sciences education and stimulate student interest in research and practical experimentation.

The call for applications is directed at primary school teachers in Macedonia specializing in biology, chemistry, and physics. It specifically targets trainee teachers and those with up to 10 years of professional experience. As part of the program, 25 to 30 teachers will participate in a one-day practical training session focused on research-based learning, project-based learning, and critical thinking. This training is certified by the Bureau for Educational Development.

Beyond the initial training, participants will receive didactic materials, mentoring support, and professional development certificates. Some teachers may also have the opportunity to implement their knowledge through scientific projects, regional science fairs, or by receiving science kits for practical experiments. Additionally, a limited number of teachers and students may visit the Johnson Matthey factory located near Skopje.
