Macedonia assembles volunteer firefighters in Aerodrom for summer fire readiness

Today the Directorate for Protection and Rescue (DZС) convened a gathering of volunteer firefighters from all active voluntary fire societies across North Macedonia at the "Goce Delchev" barracks in the Aerodrom municipality. Director and commander of the rescue forces, Stojanče Angelov, presented plans and expectations for the upcoming summer fire season, outlining a new internal structure and hierarchy intended to improve coordination, rapid information exchange, decision‑making and command of rapid‑response teams.

The new structure aims to integrate volunteer firefighters more precisely, efficiently and rationally into the national fire‑suppression system, enhancing discipline on the ground. After the assembly, an open working meeting will allow volunteers to meet each other, share experiences and discuss needs and suggestions for the summer season.
