Macedonia cadet basketball team concludes group stage at European Championship

The Macedonian cadet men's national basketball team concluded their group stage segment at the European Championship Division B.

In their second tournament victory, Macedonia defeated Switzerland 89-76. Coach Dejan Stojanovski noted that despite a slow start where Switzerland hit ten three-pointers in the first half, the team utilized high-intensity defense and full-court pressing in the second half to secure the comeback.

In their final group match, Macedonia faced Ukraine and suffered an 84-70 defeat. Although Ukraine held a significant lead of 70-49 following a dominant third quarter, the Macedonian players staged a late rally in the fourth period, reducing the deficit to single digits. Dion Shabani led the Macedonian effort with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Ilija Konevski and Mikhail Angelovski each contributed 16 points.

Ukraine finished third in Group B, while Macedonia moves into the next phase of the championship to compete for placement between ninth and sixteenth place.
