Macedonia Energy Minister Bozhinovska Meets US Ambassador Varns on Gas Projects

North Macedonia's Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska held a meeting with acting US ambassador Nicole Varns. The discussion centred on accelerating the country's gas interconnector projects – the pipeline to Greece, slated for completion in 2027, and the fast‑track link with Serbia – and on Macedonia’s upcoming accession to the EU‑backed Vertical Gas Corridor in September. Both officials highlighted the strategic importance of energy independence for a stable and prosperous state and underscored the deepening US‑Macedonian partnership. Bozhinovska said, “Investment in the energy sector is an investment in the future,” stressing benefits for citizens and the state.
