Macedonia Parliament resumes 111th session with higher‑education and student‑standard legislation
On 16 July 2026 the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia continued its 111th plenary session. Lawmakers examined a wide agenda that included an amendment to the audio‑visual media services law, a proposal on appropriate and fair representation, the 2025 budget final account, and a shortened‑procedure amendment to the student‑standard law. Additional bills covered state awards, higher education, quality assurance in higher education and science, research activity, and the national anti‑corruption and conflict‑of‑interest strategy for 2026‑2030. Proposals were also made for selecting members of the civil oversight council and appointing a member to the regulatory commission for energy, water and waste services. The session featured annual reports from the insurance supervision agency, the capital‑funded pension insurance agency, the State Audit Office, and the insurance‑market status report for 2025, as well as shortened‑procedure amendments to insurance supervision, caravan‑park regulation and the energy law.
