Macedonia passport placed 41st in Henley Index, visa‑free access to 127 countries

The Henley Passport Index Q2 2026 ranks the Macedonian passport 41st out of 199 passports, allowing visa‑free travel to 127 destinations. The ranking, released on 1 July and based on IATA data, is shared with Montenegro. The index is compiled by Henley & Partners and is widely cited by travel publications.

Singapore tops the list with visa‑free entry to 192 countries, followed by a three‑way tie between Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates at 188 destinations. Sweden, a group of Western European nations, Austria, Greece, Malta, Portugal and Switzerland follow in the top ten rankings.

The Macedonian ranking reflects its relative travel freedom compared with regional neighbours such as Slovenia (ranked higher) and Croatia (ranked lower).
