Macedonia PM Hristijan Mickoski criticised for evading parliamentary questions
Opposition leader Venko Filipçe of the LSDM accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski of avoiding parliamentary questions after a session in which a procedural blockade prevented opposition MPs from submitting their planned inquiries. Filipçe said the parliament’s rules were breached and that citizens suffer when elected representatives cannot obtain answers, citing a specific case where a deputy’s written response was delayed beyond the legal 20‑day limit.
The LSDM also claimed Mickoski is isolating the country, travelling to Belgium despite saying Macedonia should not join the EU, and alleged that senior officials and their families hold Bulgarian citizenship and EU passports. The party portrayed the prime minister’s actions as indifferent to the nation’s problems and a disregard for EU‑linked judicial independence.
