Macedonia PM Mikloski appoints convicted partner Dimovski to Good Governance portfolio

North Macedonia’s prime minister Nikola Mikloski has assigned longtime business associate Dimitar Dimovski—who is serving a conditional sentence for land‑sale scandals such as the “Toplik” and “Spanish cliffs” cases—to head the government’s Good Governance sector. Opposition SDSM member Jon Frčkoski criticised the move, saying that “today we will show what good governance means for Mikloski,” and warned that placing a convicted and allegedly corrupt partner in charge of anti‑corruption efforts creates a clear conflict of interest. Frčkoski called for Dimovski’s removal, arguing that the appointment turns the cabinet into a private enterprise serving Mikloski’s business interests.
