Greece includes North Macedonia in privileged tax regime list

Greece has officially included North Macedonia in its list of countries with a ‘privileged tax regime’ for the 2024 tax year. This decision was published in the Official Gazette of Greece and signed by the Minister and Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kirjakos Pierakakis and Dimitris Markopulos.

A total of 42 countries and territories are included in this list. Under Greek law, a privileged tax regime applies to jurisdictions where legal entities are subject to a tax rate on profits, income, or capital that is equal to or lower than 60 percent of the rate that would apply if they were tax residents or had permanent business activities in Greece.

In addition to North Macedonia, other European nations on the list include Albania, Andorra, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Monaco, Hungary, Ireland, Liechtenstein, and Moldova.
