North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia bid for 2034 Handball Championship

The handball federations of North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia are preparing a joint bid to host the 2034 Men's European Handball Championship. According to Božidar Đurković, president of the Serbian Handball Federation, preliminary agreements have been reached following several meetings between the three nations.

The proposed hosting model involves each country hosting two groups during the initial phase, with Serbia scheduled to host the final weekend and medal matches. The federations believe all three nations possess the necessary organizational capacity to manage a major tournament of this scale.

In separate youth handball news, the Slovenian U18 national team secured a silver medal at the European Championship in Belgrade after losing to Germany in the final. Meanwhile, the North Macedonian U18 team finished in 9th place after a decisive victory over Israel, securing qualification for the 2027 World Championship and the 2028 European Championship.
