Macedonia U16 basketball team secures comeback win over Hungary

The Macedonian U16 national basketball team has experienced mixed results during the Division B European Championship. In their first placement game for 9th to 16th place, Macedonia suffered an 83-58 defeat against Ireland at the T Arena in Skopje. Despite a competitive first half, the team struggled in the third quarter, scoring only eight points and facing a significant defensive decline.

However, the team secured a major comeback in a subsequent match against Hungary. After trailing by 18 points (33-51) late in the second period, Macedonia dominated the third quarter with a 33-15 run. They maintained this momentum to win 95-76, securing a spot in the battle for 13th place. Key performers included Dion Shabani, who recorded a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Kotevski with 22 points.
