Macedonia ZNAM leader Maxim Dimitarievski urges passage of electoral law
Party president Maxim Dimitarievski told reporters in Štip that it is preferable to pass an electoral law than to leave the matter unresolved. He said ZNAM fully supports the right of Macedonian citizens living abroad to vote in parliamentary and presidential elections, a guarantee provided by the constitution, and stressed the need to find a practical format for exercising that right.
Dimitarievski also endorsed the proposal to make Macedonia a single electoral district, calling it an “absolute” support for the model, and criticised opponents who, according to him, block reforms while posting messages from luxury locations abroad. His remarks were made during the third panel of the “European ZNAM, European Future, European Macedonia” caravan event.
