Macedonian Academy opens ‘Continuities’ art exhibition in Montenegro

The Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU), in collaboration with the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU), has opened the exhibition ‘Continuities’ in Podgorica. The exhibition serves as a survey of the contemporary Macedonian fine art scene, featuring drawings, paintings, sculptures, and mosaics by 19 prominent artists who are current or former members of MANU.

This event acts as a cultural dialogue and a reciprocal follow-up to an exhibition held by CANU members in Skopje in 2023. The collection showcases various generations of artists, illustrating the evolution and transformation of Macedonian artistic expression. Notable artists included in the display are Nikola Martinovski, Dimče Koco, Vangel Kodjoman, and Dimko Todorovski, among others.

During the opening, CANU official Pavle Goranovic emphasized the importance of such projects in deepening cultural ties between Montenegro and North Macedonia. Artist and MANU member Zarko Baseski noted that the exhibition allows for a new reading of artistic works within a different spiritual and social environment.
