Macedonian actors honored for cinematic and theatrical contributions

Macedonian cinema and theatre celebrate significant milestones regarding its prominent figures. The Society of Film Workers of Macedonia (DFRM) has named actor Petre Arsovski as the recipient of the ‘Great Star of Macedonian Film’ award for 2026. Arsovski, whose career spans over five decades, will receive the honor at the opening of the Manaki Brothers International Film Camera Festival in Bitola on September 19.

Separately, the Macedonian community marks the eighth anniversary of the passing of Vančo Petruski. A beloved actor, humorist, and veteran of the Drama Theatre in Skopje, Petruski was a staple of Macedonian film, television, and radio. He was widely recognized for his role as Ramče in the series ‘Macedonian Folk Tales’ and maintained a long-standing membership with the Drama Theatre from 1975 to 2017.
