Macedonian Agriculture Minister promotes beekeeping at Honey Radoviš 2026

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Borče Serafimovski opened the ‘Honey Radoviš 2026’ event, highlighting the critical role of beekeeping in the future of Macedonian agriculture.

Serafimovski emphasized that bees provide an indispensable service through pollination, which is vital for fruit growing, gardening, and field crops. He noted that protecting bees is essential for increasing domestic food production and preserving biological diversity.

Government policies are aimed at the professionalization and modernization of beekeeping farms, the preservation of the indigenous Macedonian honey bee, and the creation of high-value products. To support honest producers, the ministry is strengthening quality controls and oversight to protect against unfair competition and mislabeled products. The goal is to enhance the value of Macedonian honey through verified quality, recognizable origin, and modern packaging to increase its presence in both domestic and foreign markets.
