Macedonian athletes compete in European tennis and handball championships

Macedonian athletes have seen notable activity in international sports competitions. In Parma, Italy, Macedonian tennis players competed in the 50th European Under-16 Championship. Sara Mitevska delivered a standout performance, reaching the quarterfinals after defeating the top seed, Romania's Pop. However, Mitevska was forced to retire from her quarterfinal match due to an injury, with Milena Steinkamp ultimately winning the championship. Team captain Tanja Stojanovska noted the high level of competition and emphasized the importance of these events for player development.

In handball, Eurofarm Pelister is preparing for its European League debut against Spanish side La Rioja. Coach Lino Červar expressed confidence in his team despite being labeled favorites by some. Červar highlighted the importance of strong defense and home crowd support at the ‘Boro Čurlevski’ hall to secure a positive start to the European campaign.
