Macedonia's Customs Authority records historic July revenue over 14 billion denars

The Macedonian Customs Authority reported a record monthly collection of 14.14 billion denars in July, an increase of 1.5 billion denars (11.8 %) compared with the same month last year. This marks the fourth time in two years that the agency has surpassed its previous records. Director Boban Nikoloski said the figures demonstrate the effectiveness of the system built over the past two years and will help improve business conditions and competitiveness.

Cumulative revenue from January to July reached 80.5 billion denars (about €1.3 billion), 87.6 million euros higher than the same period a year earlier. The rise was driven mainly by larger equipment purchases by the Ministry of Defense, higher imports of oil, oil derivatives and tobacco products.

Overall state tax collections for the first seven months of the year also rose, reaching 118 billion denars – a 10 % increase year‑on‑year – with profit tax, VAT and personal income tax all showing double‑digit growth.
