Macedonian documentary ‘The Story of Siljan’ receives two Emmy nominations

The Macedonian documentary film ‘The Story of Siljan’, directed by Tamara Kotevska, received two Emmy Award nominations. The film was the only non-American production nominated in its categories.

The nominations included Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking, where it was one of only two nominated films, and Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program, where it was among five selected works. While the awards in both categories were ultimately won by American productions, the achievement is noted as a significant recognition for the Macedonian film industry.

Director Tamara Kotevska stated that the experience provides international recognition and new visibility for Macedonian film, proving that the boundaries of a small country do not limit its stories.
