Macedonian envoy Petruševski denounces double standards over Gostivar water crisis

Brane Petruševski, a representative of the VMRO‑DPMNE party, urged supporters to rally behind Valbon Limani ahead of repeat local elections in Gostivar. He criticised the governing coalition of SDSM, DUI and the Tarar municipality for applying double standards, noting that they failed to resolve the town’s contaminated water problem.

Petruševski said state institutions have now taken over the response, providing bottled water, re‑using water for technical purposes and planning to supply safe drinking water in the coming days. He added that officials only demand accountability from political opponents, while remaining silent on their own shortcomings.
