Macedonia Health Fund pays record 560.9 million denars for medical leave

The Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of North Macedonia (FSSH) announced that it has paid a total of 560.9 million denars in July for medical‑leave compensations. Of this amount, 420.3 million denars were allocated for maternity‑leave benefits and 140.6 million denars for other types of medical leave.

The payouts were made according to the following schedule: 1–23 July – 111 million denars for maternity leave and 93.5 million for other leave; 24 July – 25 million for maternity leave and 24 million for other leave; 27 July – 198 million for maternity leave and 17.7 million for other leave; 28 July – 86.3 million for maternity leave and 5.4 million for other leave. The fund said this represents the highest amount ever paid in a single month for maternity‑leave compensation and that there are no delays in the payments. The only prerequisite for the first month's payout is that contributions are paid in accordance with the law; thereafter, payments are made promptly after administrative processing, professional control and approval by the fund’s competent services.
