Macedonian literature to be featured at Frankfurt Book Fair

The Macedonian Association of Publishers (MAI) will present Macedonian literature at the Frankfurt Book Fair, scheduled for October 7 to 11. The event serves as a major global gathering for publishers, authors, literary agents, and translators.

This year, the national stand will feature an updated look with an increased number of books and authors. The association is continuing its communication concept, ‘Read in 7/8’, a metaphor derived from the unique rhythm of Macedonian musical tradition intended to represent the distinct voice of the nation's literature.

The focus will be on contemporary Macedonian literature and children's books. Additionally, the presentation will highlight opportunities for financial support regarding translations and foreign editions. MAI will also promote a current competition from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism aimed at funding translations into foreign languages. Bojan Sazdov, president of the Macedonian Association of Publishers, stated that their presence in Frankfurt is viewed as a long-term process of building international contacts and interest in Macedonian authors.
