Macedonian opposition accuses Mickoski of inciting tension for early elections

The Macedonian opposition party, LSDM, has accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski of orchestrating a scenario to trigger early parliamentary elections by artificially inciting interethnic tensions. Andrej Zhernovski, a member of the LSDM Executive Council, claimed that after previous attempts to use relations with Bulgaria as a political pretext failed, the government would now shift its focus toward creating friction with the Albanian community.

Zhernovski further alleged that these tactics are being coordinated with Serbian and Russian intelligence services to serve the interests of both VMRO and Serbian President Vučić.

In response, Prime Minister Mickoski dismissed the allegations, stating that the opposition is constantly maneuvering and lacks a clear direction. He emphasized that the government's mandate is four years and that its priority remains serving citizens through ongoing reforms and projects.
