Macedonian opposition calls for probe of Alpha TV–Alta Bank financial links

Bogdanka Kuzeska, spokesperson for the opposition SDSM party in North Macedonia, demanded a thorough investigation of all financial transactions between the media outlet Alpha TV and the newly established Alta Bank. She alleged that the two entities are part of an organized scheme to launder money, evade taxes and fund partisan propaganda linked to the Hungarian‑Orban media network and Serbian Euronews acquisitions.

Kuzeska said the scheme involves shell companies and fictitious marketing contracts that moved roughly €2.85 million from abroad into Macedonia, later ending up at Alpha TV. She noted that Alpha TV’s owner, Alpha Skop, has a blocked account, owes about €100 000 and faces imminent bankruptcy. Alta Bank, she claimed, is directly connected to the Serbian‑Macedonian political nexus of Aleksandar Mitskovski, Vojislav Vucic and the VMRO‑DPMNE party, citing board members with ties to those groups.

The SDSM has filed a criminal complaint with the public prosecutor, urging the financial police and other authorities to examine the alleged money‑laundering, tax‑evasion and falsification of business records surrounding Alpha TV and Alta Bank.
